Community giving
young scientist roundtable
Dr. Vinod Padhye, PhD, MBA, co-founder of Spectrum Fruits, Inc, launched Young Scientist Roundtable (YSR), a community enrichment program, in January 1992 to promote science at an early age. The goal of YSR is to communicate to K-12 students that science is fun and science is for everyone. The love of science is propagated by successful and entertaining science professionals by regularly scheduled meetings throughout a school year. YSR has played an actively supportive role for the schools in the Twin Cities by taking science to students in a fun-filled and inspirational environment through highly qualified, motivated and illustrious scientists, researchers and professors.
YSR has helped thousands of students in and around Twin Cities in recognizing that science can be applied to better our lives and that science offers a rewarding and exciting career opportunity. The program is now extended to several school districts covering a rather large part of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
YSR has been supported by community dollars and not by taxpayers’ dollars. Dr. Padhye has used a very simple concept to address a national need of monumental importance at no cost to a taxpayer.
Spectrum Fruits supports YSR in many ways and a portion of Spectrum Fruits proceeds goes toward YSR. Every customer is helping YSR thrive and promote science. YSR thanks you for your support!
