Nopal Cactus Pads

Nopal cactus is found along U.S. roadsides in the desert southwest and throughout its native Mexico. Nopals are soft young pads of prickly pear cacti. The vegetative pads have a texture and taste between green beans and bell peppers. Research shows that cactus pads can help regulate blood sugar already within normal range and help manage diabetes and improve cardiovascular health.
